Camera Search by Camera Search, Inc. — Last Updated: January 8, 2026
At Camera Search, Inc. (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Camera Search application and related services (collectively, the “Service”), why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have regarding your information. By using Camera Search, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Service. If you have any questions, you can contact us using the information provided at the end of this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information to provide and improve our Service. These include:
1.1 Information You Provide to Us
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect personal information such as your name, email address, and a password. We may also ask for your age or confirmation that you meet our minimum age requirements (13+).
- Profile Information (Optional): You may choose to provide additional profile details such as a profile photo or display name to personalize your experience.
- Communications with Us: If you contact us directly (e.g., via email or support), we receive the content of your communication and any other information you choose to provide.
1.2 Information We Collect Automatically
- Usage Data: We log usage information when you access or use the Service, including session dates and times, features used, actions taken, and error reports.
- Device Information: We collect details such as your device model, operating system, unique device identifiers, and device settings.
- AR and Spatial Data: If you use measurement features, the app may collect spatial mapping data from your device's sensors. This data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Network Information: When you use real-time features, we gather basic network data including your IP address (for general location such as city or country), network type, and connection details to route your connection and troubleshoot issues. We do not use your IP to pinpoint your exact address.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: If you visit our website, we may use cookies to remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. Within the app, we may use local storage to cache data such as login status and settings.
1.3 Information from Camera and Microphone (User Content)
The core function of Camera Search involves processing live video and audio from your device. We handle this sensitive data with care:
- Live Video Feed: With your permission, the app accesses your camera to capture a live video feed. Video frames are sent securely (using end-to-end encryption) to our AI system for analysis and then immediately discarded. We do not keep any permanent copy of video content.
- Audio/Voice Data: With your permission, the app accesses your microphone to capture audio input. The audio stream is encrypted and transmitted for processing (e.g., speech-to-text). We do not save audio recordings after the AI has processed them and provided a response.
- Photo Library Data: With your permission, the app may access your photo library to allow you to select photos or videos for AI analysis. We do not access photos beyond those you explicitly select.
You can revoke camera, microphone, and photo library permissions at any time in your device settings. Disabling them will limit visual intelligence features.
1.4 Information from Third-Party Services
We use certain third-party services to operate the app (e.g., cloud hosting, real-time communication, analytics). These services process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations that limit their use of your information.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To Provide and Maintain the Service: Your credentials allow secure login; your camera and microphone inputs power AI analysis and responses.
- To Process AI Responses: Live video and audio data is used to generate AI responses in real time and is not stored after delivery.
- To Communicate with You: We use your contact information for service-related communications such as account verification, password resets, and support responses.
- To Enforce Terms and Prevent Misuse: Usage patterns and system logs help us detect and prevent abuse of the Service.
- To Improve and Develop the Service: We analyze aggregated usage data to refine features, fix bugs, and guide development.
- For Security and Fraud Prevention: We use data to protect the Service and users from security threats and illegal activities.
- To Comply with Legal Obligations: If required by law, we may use your information to fulfill legal requirements or respond to lawful requests.
We do not use your personal data for advertising or sell it to third-party marketers.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it in the following circumstances:
- With Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party companies that help us operate the Service. They only receive information necessary for their tasks under strict privacy obligations.
- For Legal Requirements and Safety: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect our rights, investigate wrongdoing, or prevent harm.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred. We will ensure any successor upholds similar data protection commitments.
- With Your Consent: Outside of the above, we will only share your data with third parties if you explicitly consent.
- Aggregated or De-Identified Data: We may share anonymized data that cannot identify you personally for research, analytics, or other legitimate purposes.
4. Data Security
- Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard protocols. Video and audio streams use end-to-end encryption; other communications use HTTPS/TLS.
- Secure Storage: Personal data is stored in secure cloud environments with strict access controls.
- Access Controls: Only authorized personnel can access personal data, and solely on a need-to-know basis.
- Authentication Security: Passwords are stored in hashed form; we never store plaintext passwords.
- Incident Response: We have procedures for promptly addressing security incidents. If a breach affecting your data occurs, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by law.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we continually improve our security practices to safeguard your data.
5. Data Retention
- Account Information: Kept as long as your account is active. Deleted within a reasonable timeframe upon account deletion.
- User Content (Video/Audio): We do not store your live video or audio streams. They are processed in real time and then discarded.
- Usage Data: Retained for a limited period to analyze and improve the Service, then anonymized or deleted.
- Deletion Upon Request: You may request deletion of your data at any time, and we will comply promptly where possible.
6. Your Rights and Choices
