Our Approach
We take a minimal approach to cookies. This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies by default. No analytics, fingerprinting, or behavioral profiling occurs unless you explicitly opt in. We believe your browsing should be private unless you choose otherwise.

Local Storage
Your theme preference (dark / light mode) is stored in your browser’s local storage — not in a cookie. It never leaves your device and is not subject to cookie consent requirements.
Analytics (Opt-In Only)
If you enable analytics above, we may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are most useful and where visitors encounter problems. We will:
- Never sell this data or use it for advertising
- Never build individual behavioral profiles
- Never share non-aggregated data with third parties for their own purposes
- Limit cookie lifespan to 13 months and data retention to 25 months
Analytics cookies are off by default and are only activated after your explicit opt-in.
Third-Party Cookies
This website does not embed third-party scripts that set cookies. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no social media trackers. If you use the Camera Search application (app.camerasearch.ai), it may set additional cookies for authentication (Firebase) and product analytics (PostHog) under its own domain. Those are governed by the app’s privacy practices, not this policy.
Per-Device Consent
Your cookie preferences are stored locally in your browser. They are not synced across devices or browser profiles. If you visit this site from a different device, browser, or private/incognito window, you will be prompted again. This is by design — it ensures each browsing context has an independent, freely-given choice.
Managing Cookies
Besides using the preference panel above, you can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

This policy is designed to comply with the strictest global cookie regulations, including:
- EU/EEA & UK (GDPR + ePrivacy Directive / PECR): Non-essential cookies require prior, informed, freely-given consent with equally prominent accept and reject options. No pre-ticked boxes. Consent can be withdrawn at any time via the footer link or this page.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. No “Do Not Sell” toggle is needed because we do not engage in those practices.
- Brazil (LGPD): Non-essential cookies are consent-based. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Canada (PIPEDA): Meaningful consent is obtained before non-essential cookies are set.

Changes to This Policy
If we add new cookie categories, we will increment the internal consent version. Users with an older version will be automatically re-prompted. We will not retroactively enable categories you did not agree to. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
